Equipment
“I was very impressed with Joe and the swiftness by which he assessed and completed my project. Joe is very respectful about your budget, your needs, and is very personable and friendly while being a knowledgeable and consummate professional. His equipment is first rate, he is a good and fair person of business, and his service follows suit!” – PW, Salmo
Having the best equipment and keeping it maintained impeccably means no down time and the fastest and most efficient work. I specialize in highly efficient mid-sized equipment. This isn’t typical “mini-excavator” stuff – so be sure to compare apples to apples when considering your excavation professional!
2021 Kubota KX-080-4
Bought new in July of 2021, this 21,000 lbs, Kubota KX-080-4 is the largest sized excavator that is still considered a “midi-size” machine. It is a beast. It has massive angling dozer blade which saves so much time cleaning up and putting the perfect finish on jobs. To give you a perspective of The KX080’s capabilities, from the center of the machine to full extension, the digging reach is over 25. So one can effectively move a pile 50′ just by spinning 180 degrees (without tracking.) And it can lift boulders about the size of an old Austin Mini (and about 8 times heavier!). It’s maximum digging depth is over 15′ below the tracks.
- Angling dozer blade with float for better, faster finishing saving you money.
- 24″ dig bucket, 36″ dig bucket, 48″ finishing bucket and rock-screening 36″ skeleton bucket
- Ripper for pulling big stumps with ease
- Offset boom for cutting straight lines without re-positioning the machine and for digging parallel to foundations and structures (machines larger than this do not have this feature)
2017 Kubota SVL75
This SVL75 Compact Track Loader goes just about anywhere with confidence and speed. It never gets stuck! I have three different bucket choices as well as pallet forks for it. This machine doesn’t see a lot of hours on it in my business, but it’s a critical piece of equipment.
2022 Ram 3500 4×4 Dually Crewcab & Custom Flat Deck
This beast of a truck can pull up to about a 34,000 lbs trailer! It has an extraordinary 1075 ft lb of torque which is critical around the hills of the Kootenays. The custom deck was made for me by http://www.mofab.com in Rossland BC – what an amazing job they did on this thing. All the toolboxes help keep me nicely organized! Being insured for 20,000 kg/44,000 lb means provincially mandated truck inspection every 6 months. – a bit of a hassle and expense, but it makes sense when the tow weights are getting close to a fully sized semi.
2022 Diamond C LPD210 Gooseneck Dump Trailer
This burly dump trailer can haul almost as much as a full sized dump truck. For many septic systems requiring very clean drain rock, I scoop right out of the trailer and into field or trenches. This keep both waste and cleanup to almost zero saving you $!
2019 Maxx-D 30′ Tri-axle Gooseneck Flat Deck
This is as beefy as it gets for hauling behind a pickup truck. Just like my dump trailer, there ain’t another one like it in the Kootenay’s – and probably not in all of BC. I spent a year combing the internet until I found this used up in Salmon Arm. This trailer is equip with 3x 12,000K axles and allows me to haul a trailer with a payload (cargo) capcity of about 24,000 lb. The empty weight of this thing is about 9,500 lbs.
Compaction Equipment Etc.
Diggin’ is easy – compaction is tricky and getting it right is the most critical part of many excavation jobs. We’ve got a versatile 2020 Wacker Neuson 750 lb diesel compactor. I also have a wide array of small tools: Hilti Laser Level, Stihl MS440, MS 660, Honda Water Pump, & Honda Pressure Washer.
