My 20,000 lb excavator, 10,000 lb tracked skidsteer and heavy duty dump trailer are the right machines to get most jobs done fast and efficiently.

Joe not only did a great job burying a water tank and water line 350 feet up the side of a mountain, he also installed a septic system, dug my house foundation, did material handling of various aggregate, unloaded and positioned a 40 foot shipping container, and provided excellent advice on technical aspects of plumbing, drains, sprinklers, codes and local suppliers.  Great prompt, courteous service working long hours with very minimal breaks in order to meet timelines.  I didn’t know Joe prior to hiring him, but could tell he was the right man for the job after our first meeting.”

Beyond our own equipment we rent a variety of other equipment regularly and at reasonable prices when the job calls for it – and we won’t hesitate to refer you to another excavation professional with the most appropriate machine and qualifications for your job when called for.

The photo compilation immediately below is of Joe digging a waterline through tight forest in 2015.  These photo’s don’t get across just how steep this is!  This waterline was 350 ft long and through some very rocky sections of ground.  Including burying a 950 gallon cistern this project took 7 hours to complete.

The photo compilation below is from a job Joe did in June 2016.  Joe cleared about 500 ft of rough road for use as a fire break and for access to firewood.  The whole project took less than 8 hours of machine time to complete including loading the trailer with all that beautiful larch which he took in partial trade for the work.

Here is Joe in June 2016 having cleared almost an acre in Krestova for a home build.  …A massive slash pile on the left, and maybe 1.5 logging trucks of neatly stacked firewood on the right.  Next is digging the foundation, burying services, and installing the septic system.land clearing

Here is a low quality panorama photo of a big three week project completed in August 2016 in Crescent Valley that included major site leveling, fixing drainage issues, a compacted foundation for a modular home, a pumped septic system and 500+ feet of both waterline and electrical lines.

This 500′ long by 4′ deep trench for burying power and telecom took about 2.5 hours to dig with the KX-057.  The soils had fair bit of clay in them so it would have gone even faster in sand soil.  (Fall 2016.)

300′ of road built in Krestova.  The not-so-secret recipe is: Scrape organic material off the top, add 8″ pitrun, top with 4″ high-stone crush!  Equals a bomber road to last a lifetime.  (Spring 2017.)

We like having little jobs in our back pocket we can use to fill in gaps – often later in the week once our bigger scheduled project is done.  Here we are doing some landscaping work at a beautiful site near Playmor Junction (Summer 2017) moving some topsoil 200′ from the front of the house to the back, then spreading.

Here we are in Slocan Park (Summer 2017) installing a perimeter drain gravity feeding a sump pump to protect a basement on an older home from seasonal flooding.  Tricky work – the trench required was up to 8′ deep (twice BC’s limit for a confined space) so we had to build it entirely without going down in it or anywhere near it’s walls in case of collapse.  In the photo, Joe is standing on a solid concrete porch using a rake to keep the observation port level while Shane backfills with the excavator.

We don’t mind tight places!

…Check out the dog chillin’ on the left in this photo while we work! He obviously trusts us!

Many people underestimate the capabilities of mid sized equipment such as our KX080-4, SVL75 and heavy duty dump trailer.  Depending on the job of course, it can be a lot less expensive to a smaller machine to do the work when you are paying $400-$500 just to get a large machine to your location.
